Q&A
Q: What initially attracted you to Gridmatic?
One of the biggest draws for me was the company’s focus on its people. It was clear from the start that Gridmatic prioritizes employee growth and well-being—not just in words, but through real, tangible support.
Q: Can you give an example of that support?
Absolutely. As VP of Finance, I get visibility into how we allocate resources—and our continuing education budget is not only generous but actively used. Employees are encouraged to take classes, attend conferences, and level up their skills. That kind of investment in personal and professional growth is rare.
Q: How would you describe the culture at Gridmatic?
It’s very much a “work hard, play hard” environment. People here are driven and determined, and that energy is contagious. What I really appreciate is how that motivation gets passed forward—there’s a strong culture of mentorship and paying it forward, which makes onboarding and collaboration seamless.
Q: How does Gridmatic foster collaboration and transparency?
We hold organized deep dives on a regular basis, where each team presents their current projects and pipeline. It helps everyone understand how their work connects to the broader company mission and creates opportunities for cross-functional collaboration.
Q: Work-life balance can be tricky in high-growth startups. How does Gridmatic handle it?
I’m really proud of how seriously we take work-life balance. We trust people to manage their time and priorities. We have an unlimited vacation policy, and it’s actually encouraged—especially when it comes to spending time with family or recharging. That balance is respected across the board.
Q: What’s the office experience like?
Our office setup is fantastic. We have an on-site gym and swimming pool that the team uses regularly. We’re hybrid, so people can work from home when they need focused time, but we also bring in lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays—those are our big in-office days and a great chance to catch up with coworkers.
Q: Are there any unique benefits that stand out to you?
Yes, a few actually. Gridmatic offers a loan to employees who want to early-exercise their stock options, which is a great financial perk. We also match charitable donations and provide a stipend to set up your home workspace. These benefits reflect how much the company values both your work and your well-being.
